About CFIBastian
A lifelong focus on flying—and learning.
Bastian Liebermann was born in New York City and spent part of his childhood there before his family returned to Germany, where he lived through his youth and early adulthood.
After working as a media designer, he pursued his dream of flying helicopters. He earned his private helicopter pilot certificate in Germany before continuing his training in the United States. He now holds FAA commercial and instrument privileges and is an instrument-rated flight instructor.
Bastian founded CFIBastian in 2011 to make practical resources available to pilots throughout their careers and to encourage a safety mindset coupled with continual learning. CFIBastian is a bajali publishing company.
Today, he lives and flies in Maryland. He serves as an instructor pilot and enjoys helping other pilots succeed by sharing lessons drawn from nearly 8,000 hours of flight experience.
